The chocolate war, chapter 36-39

In chapter 36, while Janza and Jerry are about to fight, Obie brings up the black box and tells Archie that he has to get something out of the black box because basically everyone in Trinity knows about the black box so he can't refuse, even though Archie is angry, he still acts calm and cool, Archie picks out 2 white marbles and is relieved. In chapter 37, the Goober finally enters the stadium just in time to hear the rules, Jerry gets beat up in the fight until Brother Jacques stops them. In chapter 38, the Goober goes to help Jerry and asks Obie to calls the doctor, Brother Jacques scolds Archie but Brother Leon stops him and says "Boys will be boys". In chapter 39, Obie tells Archie that some day he will get his and Archie shows that he tipped off Brother Leon because he figured that if anything goes wrong for the vigils, Brother Leon can get them out of trouble.

The chocolate war, chapter 31-35

In chapter 31, Janza, with a gang of kids tries to intimidate Jerry and insults him by saying that he lives in a closet and he is a queer. In chapter 32, someone is still calling Jerry and is basically trying to make Jerry scared by calling him at night and saying things like "come out and play Jerry". In chapter 33, Archie tells off Janza for what he did to Jerry because he wasn't suppose to use a group of kids, Janza explains that using a group of kids will damage Jerry more, after the meeting Janza wonders if he will also become apart of the vigils. In chapter 34, Jerry realises that he has become invisible because no one will talk to him and no one will acknowledge him so he tries to find his friend Goober, but Goober isn't at school. Later on Brian Cochran tells Brother Leon that only one student, Jerry has not selled his chocolates so Brother Leon tells Archie so Archie tells Obie to make Jerry sell his chocolates. In chapter 35, Jerry and Janza are about to fight in a Arena and while Janza is agreeing to the fight, Jerry is scared and shocked.

The chocolate war, chapter 26-30

In chapter 26, Jerry calls the girl that he see's in the bus stop so often and the call does not go well because she mistakes Jerry for another person and thinks that he is a pervert. In chapter 27, the vigils pick a junior called Frankie Rollo for their next assignment, Frankie is not afraid of the vigils so when the vigils have their meeting with Frankie, he insults the vigils so the leader of the vigils, Carter beats him up. In chapter 28, Jerry is in football practice and his goal is to tackle Carter, after tackling Carter, someone else goes behind Jerry and tackles him, Jerry wonders who it could be, than Jerry starts receiving random phone calls and starts getting threatened by some stranger. In chapter 29, Brian Cochran adds up the totals and can't wait to tell brother Leon because a lot of students have sold their chocolates because the vigils are threatening people to sell chocolates. In chapter 30, generally brother Leon justs contratulates all the boys of Trinity on selling the chocolates.

The chocolate war, personal response

My personal response to the chocolate war is that it is a pretty good book but it can get boring sometimes because all it practically talks about is mostly Jerry not selling chocolates and other things about chocolate but there are some good parts in the book like when The Goober fills out his assignment fromthe vigils and practically destroys room 19 and made it fall apart. In overall I think the book is pretty good and that it is worth reading.

The chocolate war, significant events

The most significant events that had happened in the book, the chocolate war so far is that Jerry refuses to sell any chocolates, The Goober messes up room 19 and decides to quit the football team, Jerry gets into the football team, Jerry's fight with his dad, The vigils meeting and Jerry calls the girl that he likes.

The chocolate war, Setting

The setting of the chocolate war is mostly around the school like the school oval and the gym and also in the bus stop. In the book the person with the most power would probably be Brother Leon and the second person with the most power would probably be Archie, the leader of a gang in Trinity high called The Vigils. There really isn't very much about the setting to talk about.

The chocolate war, Characters

There are many different characters in the book chocolate war and most of the characters are either Brothers that are teachers in Trinity and students from Trinty. The main character is a little freshman kid called Jerry that is trying out for the football team, he isn't really a type of person who should play sports because he is pretty weak. The second main character would be a person called The Goober (Goubert) which is a tall guy who is also trying out for the football team. There is also Archie which is a very popular kid in Trinity and is the leader of a Gang called the vigils which is a gang in Trinity and Archie also tries to act cool all the time and keeps his cool. There is also another character called Obie who knows also about Archie, for example he knows that Archie's coolness is just a big act and isn't really real and he is sort of Archie's helper and they are sort of friends. There is also a student called Carter who does boxing for Trinity and he is a big buffed up guy who is also apart of the Vigils. There is also Brother Leon which is a teacher in Trinity and also bullies the students of Trinity and picks on them and he isn't a nice person. There is also Jerry's dad which has a bad relationship with Jerry and Janza which is the bully of Trinity high school.
